Little ones have always been my passion and I always knew I wanted to work with children and have some of my own. My husband and I struggled for years to have a baby of our own...not something we ever anticipated being a difficult task. We went through infertility treatments over the course of several years and every day, I wondered if it was meant to be.

We didn't give up hoping and praying for our miracle. We were incredibly blessed to welcome a baby boy in 2014 and learned through the process "having babies is never up to us". We were extremely delighted when we found out that we were pregnant again with our second little blessing.

Our baby girl arrived into our arms in November of 2105. Having a less than one percent chance of getting pregnant on our own before our first baby we were shocked to find ourselves pregnant again and were blessed with a second baby girl in May of 2017.

We are always asked, "Did you plan to have kids that close?" and my favorite response is "You can plan as much as you want, but babies are always surprises!".

Our little ones change overnight it seems, and even though Always Happy Life Photography opened in 2011, my passion to capture my little ones' babyhood and childhood have expanded my love for photography, and the families I am privileged to work with. I feel as though every day a little of their smallness slips away and so I have set out to fill our home with timeless images to remember these days. I want the same for all of my clients!

My love for photography began when I was a young child born, in Rochester, New York, the home of Kodak. My grandmother's photograph albums, dating back to the early 1900'sare timeless and cherished by my family. Without them, it would be difficult to remember, "How did Grandma look when she was a baby?" or "Does my son have Grandpa's eyes?". Photography was always part of my everyday life as a child because we valued it in our family as a way to capture memories. I picked up my first camera around the age of five and have never looked back.

Since I had always loved babies, children, and families, I studied to become a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in college and graduate school. I've worked in the NICU, Birth Center and specialty pediatrics. When I met my husband, a professional sailor and moved to Culver, Indiana the opportunities to work in pediatrics were few and far between without a long daily commute. I missed working with babies, children and families and so Always Happy Life Photography became my way to connect with this love and my passion for photography. It is the perfect fit!

My beautiful Always Happy Life Photography Old Barn Studio is located in a renovated old barn and was completed in 2012. It is perfect for newborns, babies and children, and senior portrait sessions. The studio is surrounded by gorgeous fields, barns, and other great locations for outdoor shoots with families too. I’d love to share it with you and your family!
